Are you a high school student in grades 9–12 and a Clinton County resident? If so, this is your chance to show your creativity and writing talent while celebrating cultural heritage through the magical world of alebrijes!
🧠 Essay Prompts (Choose One):
- Discuss how alebrijes have become a global representation of Mexican culture and why you think they resonate with people beyond Mexico.
- Imagine your alebrije as a guardian or protector. What qualities would it have to help guide you through life?
📋 Essay Guidelines:
- Up to 500 words
- Double spaced, 1-inch margins
- Times New Roman, size 12
- Include: your name, grade level, school name, date, and prompt chosen
🔎 Judging Criteria:
Essays will be scored based on clarity, connection with the reader, grammar, expression, meaning, and how well the prompt is answered.
🏆 Prizes:
- 1st Place: $200
- 2nd Place: $100
- 3rd Place: $50
